Rural Practice Sustainability Training Grants

RDN launched the Rural Practice Sustainability Training Grant in 2024, enabling access to funding and support for practice managers and practice administration staff to upskill in business management. The grants are funded as part of the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care (DoHAC) Rural Health Workforce Support Program and administered through RDN.

Rural Practice Managers Conference

The Rural Practice Managers Conference takes place annually in November as part of Rural Health Month  and is designed specifically for rural practice managers, featuring content tailored to the unique challenges and opportunities in rural healthcare. The Conference allows attendees to hear from experts, connect with peers, share experiences, and build valuable professional relationships during dedicated networking functions.

New Rural GP Orientation Workshops - for Doctors NEW to General Practice

RDN’s New Rural GP Orientation Workshops (NGPO) ensure a smooth transition for GPs new to rural practice. Held in a mix of metropolitan and rural locations and often co-located with other events, these workshops ensure accessibility and provide opportunities for these doctors to engage with the wider rural health community.
