NSRP Information for Health Professionals and Organisations

Screenshot 2023-03-30 095006In support of health care service provision in rural areas, RDN and the Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA) have partnered to deliver the Nurse Student Rural Placement (NSRP) Project. The project aims to address current and future nurse workforce shortages, by creating a pipeline of next generation primary health care nurses, equipped to serve our rural and remote communities.

By participating in the NSRP Project, nursing students will be provided with the opportunity to undertake high quality placements in a range of primary health care settings. This may include General Practice, Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Services, residential aged-care facilities, community health, school health services and more.

How you can help

We are inviting experienced Registered Nurses and Nurse Practitioners who are passionate about the development of the nursing profession, to join us in this project. If you are a Registered Nurse and/or Nurse Practitioner who works in a rural primary health care setting, the NSRP project is your chance to mentor and share your professional experience to the next generation primary health care nurses.
