Led by respected elders, the yarning circle provides a safe and supportive environment for individuals to come together, share their stories, and find solace in community connection. Free of judgement, participants engage in open dialogue, discussing topics ranging from mental health and substance use to family dynamics and cultural heritage.

The group serves as a catalyst for positive change, empowering participants to address concerns and navigate life's challenges with resilience and strength. Through shared experiences and guided discussions, individuals find healing, support, and a sense of belonging within the group. The group benefits from the expertise of an Outreach supported clinician, who provides valuable insights into maintaining physical health and wellbeing.

Together, they explore topics such as maintaining muscle mass, continence, mental health, diet, and diabetes, enriching discussions with cultural perspectives and traditional knowledge. The impact of the elders' healing circle extends far beyond its participants, fostering a sense of community wellness and empowerment in Lismore. Through their consistency and collaboration, the elders and their partners exemplify the transformative power of grassroots initiatives in promoting holistic health and wellbeing for all.
