The first meeting of the Regional Health Ministerial Advisory Panel was held on 17 October 2023 and was chaired by RDN CEO Richard Colbran.

Advisory Panel
Chair Richard Colbran of RDN said “I am privileged to be asked by Minister Park to Chair the RHMAP. RDN’s Board endorsed the Minister’s request as it is seen as important recognition of RDN and directly supports achievement of key strategy aims.”

Minister Park has requested the Panel focus on three priorities:

  • Progress and achievement of the NSW Rural Health Inquiry recommendations
  • Health Workforce
  • Aboriginal health and wellbeing.

Minister Park addressed the meeting and members had the chance to present to the Minister their first responses to the priority areas. Secretary for Health, Susan Pearce AM, also attended the meeting and provided updates on Ministry of Health activities and her role as Chair of the National Health Workforce Taskforce.

The make-up of the Panel and its Terms of Reference is revised from that established by Minister Taylor in 2022 prior to the State election. Details are available via this link - NSW Regional Health Ministerial Advisory Panel

In addition to the inquiry report, the Panel will use the NSW 2022-2023 Regional Health Strategic Plan.
