Celebrating RDN’s 35th Anniversary with Her Excellency, the Governor of New South Wales

Members of RDN’s Leadership Team recently had the privilege of representing RDN to Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC at Government House, Sydney to mark RDN’s 35th anniversary.
Chair of RDN, John Kramer OAM was joined by RDN CEO, Richard Colbran and RDN’s Director of Aboriginal Health Engagement, Nicole Turner as Her Excellency acknowledged and thanked RDN and its broad network for all its work and contributions since 1988.
The Governor observed the important role rural health professionals, and their families, play in rural community life and economy. She also recounted that, in August this year, she visited Canowindra and by chance had the opportunity to meet RDN’s Board Member, Dr Ros Bullock, where she was served lunch and tea at the family’s café and met local students at the CWA Hall.
During the visit, RDN staff acknowledged and thanked Her Excellency for her support of rural communities and rural health professionals during COVID-19 and particularly Her Excellency’s involvement in RDN’s Resilience, Recharge and Recovery (RRR) program where she hosted a number of virtual Meet-and-Greet Wellbeing Sessions with health professionals from across rural NSW.
RDN presented the Governor with a letter of appreciation and gift - a frame which features Malang Nguyran – Together Us All –symbolising acknowledgement of all those who contribute to the vitality and sustainability of rural communities through health.
