Record number of GPs attend rural Refresher conference

Over the weekend, a record number of rural GPs from across NSW converged at Sails, Port Macquarie for the 2023 Rural GPs Refresher Conference. Ninety GPs attended the conference, which included a rural-focused education program and social events in a relaxed, family-friendly environment.

GPs new to rural general practice attended the New Rural GP Orientation Workshop, while the Advanced Life Support Workshop, supported by NAB foundation, provided participants with the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and confidence in managing medical emergencies.

"What a way to start the year! 90 GPs and 50 medical students coming together to learn and connect," says RDN Conference & Events Manager Lindsey Eifler. "A huge thanks to our partner RDA NSW as well as the to the NSW Ministry of Health, our sponsors and our fantastic speakers. We're looking forward now to our next events, including our ALS workshops and Anaesthetics Procedural Conferences."

The Rural GPs Refresher Conference was made possible thanks to RDN together with the Rural Doctors Association of NSW, and the Advanced Life Support Workshop was supported by NAB foundation.
