RDN collaboration with Royal Flying Doctor Service set to benefit Warren and Gilgandra
27th February 2023
RDN has supported the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) as they assumed ownership of GP clinics at Gilgandra and Warren, formerly operated by Rural and Remote Medical Services (RARMS).
In February, an agreement was reached for RDN to provide an overview of their products and programs to the RFDS teams of Broken Hill and Dubbo as part of a closer collaboration between the two organisations.
Presentations were delivered about RDN’s subject matter experts in recruitment, retention, future workforce, scholarships, the Bush Bursaries, Country Women's Association (CWA) Scholarships, and Rural Resident Medical Officer Cadetships.
RDN also discussed the importance of effective strategies for organisations to navigate workforce development processes.
RDN Regional Manager, Mark Muchiri, said “we are excited at the prospect of RDN providing professional development opportunities and support of their clinical and non-clinical staff.”
Mr Muchiri emphasised the importance of collaboration and partnerships in workforce development between RFDS, local government, education institutions, government agencies and other health providers.
“We are looking forward to working with RFDS to provide support and to continue to work together to help improve health outcomes for the people of Gilgandra, Warren and surrounding areas,” Mr Muchiri said.
