Supporting practice managers to up-skill

Gina Evans has been Practice Manager at Milton Medical Centre since 2009 and has been proactive with her ongoing education, completing a Diploma in Practice Management and recently receiving a RDN grant to enrol in the Diploma of Leadership in Healthcare Practice.
Milton Medical Centre is a general practice located on the NSW South Coast. Since Gina Evans began at the Centre 22 years ago, the team has expanded from 3 to 28, with the practice now offering a huge range of rural medical services.
In 2009, Gina was promoted to Practice Manager and has been proactive with her ongoing education, completing a Diploma in Practice Management and recently receiving an RDN grant to enrol in the Diploma of Leadership in Healthcare Practice.
Gina says, “I want to keep abreast of the ever-changing landscape in the health industry, and this Diploma is helping me adapt to the changes and learn new ways to lead my team to ensure they keep loving their work as much as I do.
“Over the last 13 years RDN has been a great support. I attend many of their events, including the Rural Practice Managers Conference (online), COVID-19 and telehealth webinars, and I receive regular updates including their quarterly Practice Made Perfect newsletters. The Breakfast with Gary webinars are my favourites, giving me quality, up-to-date information to assist in my role, and to share with my team.
“With so much COVID-19 related stress and patient demand now in our community, I have found RDN’s sessions on staff burnout - and on implementing strong systems to keep the team and community safe - to be very helpful.
“RDN strongly advocates and supports education for PMs, and I recommend them to my colleagues.”
