RDN grant funding for practice managers and reception staff

As part of RDN’s ongoing commitment to increase the capability and capacity of rural health professionals, we are pleased to be able to offer three new funding initiatives aimed at supporting practice managers and reception staff.

FUNDAMENTALS OF HEALTHCARE RECEPTION

This introductory course provides practices and candidates with an insight into the competencies and skills required for a role in healthcare reception. Learn to apply the principles of confidentiality, privacy and security within the medical environment, maintain patient records and, prepare and process medical accounts. This training is provided by Registered Training Organisation UNE partnerships. 

Suitable for: A junior staff member, new starter or existing staff member who would benefit from a refresher.

CERTIFICATE IV IN MEDICAL PRACTICE ASSISTING 

Medical Assistants have an increasing role to play within a practice, alleviating some of the stress and workloads of medical practitioners. They are highly valued multi-skilled team members of the medical practice, formally trained to perform a wide range of admin tasks and front desk duties as well as assisting with a range of treatment room procedures. They work under either the direct or indirect supervision of a medical practitioner and carry out a range of delegated tasks that include front desk administrative work and the performance of instructed treatment room care. This training is provided by Registered Training Organisation UNE partnerships.

Suitable for: Non-clinical staff members who are currently working in general practice. 

SMALL GROUP eLEARNING MODULES 

Contemporary medical practice management requires skilled staff with core competencies in key domains that impact on the sustainability, viability, and successful running of medical services. This program, developed by Medical Business Services, provides targeted coaching, training, support and mentoring for primary health care practice managers to develop, consolidate and elevate their management skills. 

Suitable for: Practice managers currently working in a primary health care practice.
