To celebrate and say thanks to the rural health workforce, Rural Health Pro on behalf of NSW Rural Doctors Network (RDN) will be hosting free online concerts for rural health professionals.

Health professionals are invited to enjoy two special evening concerts with individual performances from iconic Australian musicians Archie Roach and Daryl Braithwaite.

Singer, songwriter, guitarist, and campaigner for the rights of Indigenous Australians, Archie Roach, is one of Australia's most treasured performers. He has been recording award winning albums for almost 30 years.

Best known for his hit song ‘The Horses’ released 30 years ago, Aussie music legend Daryl Braithwaite was lead singer of one Australia's most popular acts of the '70s, Sherbet, and he has also found concurrent success as a solo artist.

The popular artists have both been inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame which recognises artists who have achieved significant prominence in recorded music as well as cultural impact within Australia.

The online concert initiative is part of a wider campaign, #RuralPositive, which RDN will be facilitating during the month of November to bring health and industry partners together, along with the general public, to thank and praise rural health professionals.

“The concerts are one way of saying thank you, and we hope that as many rural health professionals as possible will kick back at home, or in the office with their colleagues, and sing along to these two Aussie icons,” RDN Director Service Delivery, Mike Edwards said.

“It’s great to have Archie and Darryl onboard and we look forward to chatting with both of them live before their sets to discuss why supporting our rural health professionals is so important.”

Rural Health Pro’s National Manager, Ben Eames, wants guests to come and relax online, reconnect with colleagues wherever they might be around the nation and enjoy the well-deserved tributes to the rural health workforce.

“There is no better time to bring some live music to rural health workers around Australia, these concerts will provide an opportunity to relax and hear some great tunes from Archie and Daryl, all from the comfort of home or workplace,” he says.

Archie Roach will be performing on Rural Health Pro’s digital mainstage on Friday 5 November from 6.30pm to 7.30pm and Darryl Braithwaite on Friday 19 November from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

To tune in to the online concerts, rural health professionals will need to be a member of Rural Health Pro.
