Innovative uses of technology to support outreach telehealth clinics
7th August 2020
The adaptability of our outreach health practitioners is essential to ensure continuity of health services during the COVID-19 pandemic, and we’re seeing inspiring examples of this across NSW.
Lauren Blatchford (pictured)- a diabetes educator and podiatrist at Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service - recently used a late model iPhone to help deliver her allied health clinics.
The device enabled her to send supporting photographs for a phone consultation with a patient regarding an ingrown toenail. Face-time also provided a way for Lauren to maintain regular contact with patients for insulin titration, providing the continual care they may not otherwise receive.
