Outreach ENT awarded a Member of the Order of Australia

RDN would like to extend its congratulations to long-standing outreach provider Dr John Curotta AM, for receiving a Member of the Order of Australia in the 2020 Queen's Birthday Honours list.

John CurottaDr Curotta was acknowledged ‘for significant service to medicine as an ear, nose and throat surgeon, and to Indigenous health’. Dr Curotta has represented the Australian Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (ASOHNS) for the Health Outreach Advisory Forum since 2014 and has generously shared his thoughts and advice on outreach program design and implementation over the years.

Dr Curotta has delivered services to Aboriginal communities from Port Macquarie to Bega (and many in between) as an outreach ENT consultant and surgeon. Through the Healthy Ears Better Hearing Better Listening (HEBHBL) program, Dr Curotta has performed 182 surgeries and more than 1,400 Occasions of Service over the last six years.

We are glad Dr Curotta’s dedicated and service to medicine has been recognised with this award. Congratulations, Dr Curotta.
