Trumaine Rankmore

Trumaine is a proud Wiradjuri man and Aboriginal Health Practitioner (AHP) who is working to create better health outcomes for Indigenous people.

In 2012, Trumaine started working at Tamworth Aboriginal Medical Service as an Aboriginal Health Worker (AHW) after completing his Certificate III in Primary Health Care. He has since completed his Certificate IV and became an Aboriginal Health Practitioner in 2016.

In 2018, Trumaine joined IPN Medical in Newcastle, NSW and works across seven locations. He is the only Aboriginal Health Practitioner within the 50 IPN NSW practices.

Trumaine's passion is supporting Indigenous people through their health journey with a particular interest in the treatment and management of Chronic Disease. Trumaine has seen firsthand the social and emotional well-being complications and the impact these health complications have on the family network.

Trumaine has worked for Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations and on a number of research programs such as the Urban Hearing Project and Plum & Hats with Hearing Australia.

Trumaine has the ambition to study medicine in the future and hopes that he can impact the lives of Indigenous people around Australia.

Nicole Turner

Nicole Turner is a Kamilaroi woman who currently lives in the Hunter area. She is one of very few qualified Aboriginal community nutritionists in Australia, Nicole is chairperson of Indigenous Allied Health Australia (IAHA), she is also an Adjunct Professor of Nutrition and Dietetics at University of Canberra. Nicole is the Aboriginal Workforce Engagement Manager at RDN. Nicole has worked in the health sector for over 25 years.

Nicole has published numerous papers in international journals and presented at several conferences around Australia and overseas on a variety of topics, especially Indigenous health.

Nicole’s passion is nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle. She believes we need to give knowledge to our people about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and preventing chronic diseases. She is involved with many national, state and local committees and organisations.
