RURAL IMMERSION EXPERIENCES

Impact of COVID-19 on student immersion opportunities

After much consideration and monitoring of the COVID-19 pandemic, in consultation with our medical advisors we have decided it is best that the 2020 Outreach Student Placement Program, and the April Go Rural road trip, do not go ahead. The safety and wellbeing of participants, mentors, health workers and community members, is a top priority for RDN. We apologise for any disruptions to you as a result of this decision, but trust you understand the reasons for it.

We will continue to monitor the situation surrounding COVID-19 but at this stage hope that the immersion experiences planned for late 2020 and 2021 will go ahead. These programs will accept applications as previously advertised:

  • John Flynn Placement Program.
  • Cadetships
  • The Bush Bursary program
