Nurse Student Rural Placement Project
In support of health care service provision in rural areas, RDN and the Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA) have partnered to deliver the Nurse Student Rural Placement (NSRP) Project. The NSRP Project is designed to address three important stages in the process of transitioning to rural primary health care nursing, broadening students’ understanding and appreciation for rural and remote life in NSW.
Nursing students will be provided with the opportunity to undertake high quality placements in a range of primary health care settings. This may include General Practice, Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Services, residential aged-care facilities, community health, school health services and more.
The project works in collaboration with a number of Australian universities and education providers, supporting them to place 1st, 2nd and 3rd year Bachelor of Nursing and Diploma of Nursing students, as well as Post-Graduate and Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) students in a range of quality primary health care settings.
