2nd June 2025

RDN's Rural Health Pro is delighted to announce that nominations are now open for the third National Rural and Remote Health Awards.
Inaugurated at Parliament House in 2023, the Awards are hosted by Rural Health Pro each November as part of Rural Health Month, and aim to celebrate the extraordinary efforts of health professionals and organisations serving remote and rural communities around Australia.
Presentation of the Awards will take place on Ngunnawal country at the National Press Club of Australia, in Canberra, on Wednesday 5 November, 2025.
Amongst those attending to honour finalists and nominees will be the Governor-General of Australia, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, and the National Rural Health Commissioner Professor, Jenny May AM, along with other VIPs and representatives of the rural and remote health community from around Australia.
Rural Health Pro Manager, Jessica Rostas is encouraging every individual, whether a patient or peer, to rally behind and celebrate the extraordinary efforts of their local health professionals, teams and organisations by nominating them for one of ten award categories.
“We have been delighted with the support these awards have received - from the attendance of the Governor-General, to receiving nominations from Australia’s most remote communities – all to celebrate the work of some of Australia’s most outstanding health professionals and organisations, making a difference where it matters most,” Jessica said.
“Whether you’re a patient or peer, every nomination is an opportunity to express gratitude and acknowledge the extraordinary efforts of your local health professionals and organisations– or you can nominate yourself!
All rural, remote and regional communities now have the opportunity to showcase this work and the #ruralpositive stories that can be found in rural and remote health by nominating today in one or more of the ten categories listed below.
