RDN signs MoU with Central NSW Joint Organisation
25th November 2024
On Thursday 14 November, RDN CEO, Richard Colbran re-signed a Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of RDN with the Central NSW Joint Organisation (CNSWJO) at NSW Parliament House to formally recognise the ongoing joint interests in gaining more substantial health outcomes for remote, rural and regional NSW.
The CNSWJO member councils are Bathurst Regional, Blayney Shire, Cabonne, Cowra Shire, Forbes Shire, Lachlan Shire, Lithgow City, Oberon, Orange City, Parkes Shire and Weddin Shire.
Over the last 12 months as part of the previous MoU, RDN worked with the 11 member Councils to support health workforce and health system literacy.
The MoU was signed in the presence of the NSW Minister for Health and Regional Health, The Hon Ryan Park.
RDN CEO, Richard Colbran said RDN is delighted to be renewing the MoU with CNSWJO.
“CNSWJO continues to lead important discussions and solutions for health and social care for their communities,” Mr Colbran said.
“It is important leadership work and all involved with CNSWJO should be acknowledged for that. RDN sees it a privilege to work with community and, in this case, contribute to CNSWJO and its council members in their range of collaborative activities to support the continued growth and sustainability of New South Wales rural health systems, infrastructure and workforce,” he said.
The CNSWJO also expressed enthusiasm for the renewed agreement. “Community sentiment surveying in region tells us that health is the number one priority of the people of Central NSW; head and shoulders above any other priority. It is only by working together that we can address the particular challenges our rural and remote communities experience,” said Cr Kevin Beatty, Chair of CNSWJO and Mayor of Cabonne Council.
