RDN’s Future Workforce Manager, Chris Russell and Program Lead, Sam Zelinski, represented RDN in Melbourne over the weekend at the National Rural Health Student Network’s (NRHSN) second, and final, national Council for 2024.
RDN is the administrator of the NRHSN, on behalf of the Rural Workforce Agencies Network – (RWAN) and the team was excited to see that every Rural Health Club (RHC) in Australia was represented at the Council, as well as a presentation from the National Rural Health Commissioner Professor Jenny May.
Gabrielle Ebsworth, a proud Wangkumara and Barkindji woman who grew up on Wiradjuri Country in New South Wales, presented at the Council about ‘Aboriginal Perspectives on Leadership’.
RDN’s Sam Zelinski also presented at the Council about ‘Planning a successful road trip’ and said the Council was a wonderful opportunity for RHCs to share ideas and to network.
"The NRHSN Executive did a fantastic job in putting together the weekend. They had some inspirational and insightful speakers, and ran some really useful workshops for future Rural Health Club leaders," Sam said."All those who attended really made the most of the event. The collaboration and engagement between clubs was excellent."
