RDN's annual metro stakeholder meeting for Outreach programs

19th August 2024

Earlier this month, the Greater Western Aboriginal Health Service (GWAHS) at Mt Druitt hosted RDN's annual metro stakeholder meeting for Outreach programs.

In attendance were representatives from RDN, GWAHS, WentWest (Western Sydney PHN), Western Sydney LHD and the Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council (AH&MRC).

The federally funded Outreach program works to increase access to healthcare services for rural, remote and Aboriginal communities and has proved highly successful. The meeting discussed Outreach programs operating in the western Sydney region, including:

RDN’s Senior Coordinator – Health Access Services, Sally Brugger, said there were “some great conversations about how each of the organisations can help each other improve health access outcomes for the Aboriginal people living in Western Sydney”.

“Everyone is keen to meet up again to continue the journey,” Sally said.

RDN's annual Outreach regional stakeholder meetings will continue in coming weeks, and feedback on programs and workforce support needs will inform upcoming planning.
