Book launch – Principles of Healthcare Management
12th July 2024
Practice Manager ‘Guru’ Gary Smith AM has worked closely with RDN for more than 5 years to present webinars and workshops and share his almost four decades of knowledge and experience as a Practice Manager of a large multi-disciplinary practice in western Sydney.
His career has been extensive in the management of healthcare facilities and the provision of health services, predominately in the general practice arena and now, Gary has joined forces with Colleen Sullivan OAM, to publish a book!
Together, Gary and Colleen have created a comprehensive set of principles aimed to empower and benefit practitioners, nursing staff, clinical assistants, administrative assistants, receptionists, and business and practice managers to elevate the service standards of their practice and thrive in an ever-evolving industry.
Gary says the book is a resourceful and user-friendly handbook for healthcare practices that addresses the principles of practice management in a practical format.
“We wrote this book to provide a handbook that could be embedded in the management of healthcare practices, address all areas of the practice, and meet the ongoing development and learning needs of all those involved in the practice,” he said.
“We would like this handbook to become part of getting the best from every area of your practice by using a new approach to the principles of healthcare practice management. If we can underpin a practice with good practice management, it will be inspiring and motivating for the whole team and take the practice to the next level of excellence and care,” Gary said.
“Patients, clinicians, administrative staff and support staff…anyone dealing with the practice will be impressed when there are effective and efficient teams working together for the benefit of the patients and the practice,” they say.
