
Advanced Life Support Workshop
NSW Rural Doctors Network would like to invite you to a one-day Advanced Life Support Workshop in Coogee on Wednesday 22 November. The course focuses on developing skills, knowledge and confidence in managing medical emergencies including cardiac arrest. It includes the recognition, assessment and immediate management of the deteriorating patient.
The course meets the standards for Advanced Life Support Workshop Level 1 as defined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines and includes:
- Recognition, assessment and management of the critically ill patient using a structured ABCDE approach (aiming to prevent cardiac arrest)
- Airway management skills
- Basic Life Support
- Defibrillation skills (Manual and/or AED modes)
- Cardiac arrest management using the ARC ALS Algorithm
- Work as an effective team member in a cardiac arrest
